Reverend Canon Mary Ellen Berry, Interim Priest-in-Charge
Mary Ellen was ordained Deacon and Priest in the Diocese of Niagara in 1994 and 1995. She served in the Diocese of Niagara, in the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as in the Diocese of Ottawa, where she served at the Parish of March, St George’s, Clayton, Julian of Norwich (formerly St Richard’s and St Michael and All Angels), Christ Church Aylmer; and formerly as regional Archdeacon in the Deanery of Arnprior-Lanark.
Mary Ellen is married to The Reverend David Vavasour, a retired priest of this Diocese. Mary Ellen has a strong and abiding interest in contemplative spirituality, the study of scripture, and contemporary/historical intersections between religion and violence. Nordic walking, ceramics, and calligraphy are beloved avocations.
Recently David and Mary Ellen have adopted the most darling 6-year-old labradoodle whose name is Frankie and who is very much helping Mary Ellen with her Nordic walking aspirations.
Canon Berry comes to you as Interim Priest-in-Charge, to serve as priest and pastor as CCA charts its direction for the future.
